Hey guys! I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted, but it has been very hectic for me recently, so I had to put blogging on hold for just a little bit in an attempt to get my life together again (still working on this part btw). Between studying for exams, working and my internship, it has been very difficult to keep up with everything, so a break was much needed. The good news is that I am back and I brought a new look with me today. As I’ve mentioned countless times, I love the androgyny and mixing it into my personal style, and one of the main types of clothing that is known to be apart of this category is workwear. Of course, in this day and age, women are working just as much as men do, so workwear has been designed to cater to our bodies just as well, and have been seen in a variety of colors.
As workwear pieces like the suit continue to evolve, we are now seeing that these typical office styles recently getting an update with the addition of oversized and exaggerated proportions. These new designs are making workwear fit even more into that androgynous category (The Vetements effect foreal). In my case, I was inspired by these pair of slacks, and decided to build the rest of my semi-workwear look around them. I have grown to love workwear pieces, like slacks due to the simple fact that they can be worn in a work environment or even worn casually with a pair of sneakers and a t-shirt. I especially like the juxtaposition between a graphic tee with pinstripe pants to give the workwear piece an unexpected twist. In my case today, I went for a more casual look but dressed it up with heels for a similar contrast like a t-shirt and slacks look, but styled a little differently. I wanted to add the fishnet tights to elevate my look, while giving it some texture, and kept it pretty simple at the top with a basic tank top and bralette. Its like business at the bottom and a party on top! What are your thoughts on my workwear look? Let me know in the comments beloww
