A flannel shirt is probably not the first thing you would think to wear to beat the summer heat considering that they are usually worn in the colder seasons, but styling it to make it work in the hot weather can help. One of the biggest trends this summer was definitely off-the-shoulder tops and dresses, and there has been a multitude of different iterations with this trend in mind, so I thought “why not just recreate the tops I already have?” Any shirt with buttons works just fine to try this, so I chose my flannel for this look. All I did was button the bottom buttons while leaving the other ones undone so it would fall off my shoulders, but still manage to keep it from completely falling off. It is a really quick and easy trick and can be done with about just anything, all while keeping me cool at the same time. I wore it with a denim skirt, which is one of my favorite pieces right now, because..well, I love all things denim, and then tucked my flannel in just a little bit in the front. I chose these boots to elevate my look, all while managing to stay comfortable with the chunkier heel to help me out. Thoughts? Let me know in the comments below.
